In an ideal world you should never have to consider trying to retrieve data from your failed hard disk. If, on the other hand, the only copy of your data now resides on failed or damaged media, please contact us on info@onNeutral.com. Our success rate is very encouraging. We operate on a no-fix no-fee policy^* and will not bill you anything if we fail to read information off your media.

If your media is no longer responding, send us an email with your contact details and a brief summary of what happened. You may optionally use our contact form. If the media still appears to be functioning, it is very important that you do not attempt to:

Copy files onto it.
Format it or use software that wipes or erases data.
Run software off it (including your operating system)
Open the media.
Power up the unit (especially in the case of smoke, fire or water damage).
Remove the unit from within the computer (unless you are sufficiently computer literate).
Remove the unit from the computer (especially if the media is part of a RAID system).
Open the tape, inspect the magnetic strip and try to "clean" or "wipe" it.
